The €30,000 Köster Award for a music video!

To celebrate the opening of the realtime – international festival of new music, the realtime forum for new music will for the first time hand out the 30,000€ Köster Award for the best music video. A qualified jury selected the winning video from all submissions and will announce the award at the grand closing gala.

10 Finalists

We are delighted to help the genre of New Music to gain more visibility. We were particularly pleased with the high quality of submitted projects. The Köster Prize is considered as the highest endowed music video prize in the category of contemporary music. The award winners of both the Köster Prize and the Young Talent Prize have now been selected by the jury and informed by us. These prizes will be awarded at the grand closing gala of the realtime – international festival for new music on 23.10.2021.

The 10 best music videos that have made it to the final round are being released here already. Congratulations to all finalists. Many thanks to all filmmakers who took part in the competition.

The realtime – international festival for new music is running a festival competition in collaboration with the Filmbüro Bremen.

Contemporary Music is fascinating, unusual and novel – and it is time for it to gain new artistic interpretations. This movie award is open to all artists who seek to interpret contemporary music in a visual form. All types of visual realization, whether film, video or animation, are welcome. The amount of prize money is not intended to reflect the expected cost of the production. The prize is awarded solely on the basis of artistic merit. Artists were invited to choose one of the pieces listed below for their visual composition.

The submissions will be presented on the last day of the festival. The winner will receive € 30,000: the highest-value award for a music video in the field of classical music. Participants under the age of 25 will also be eligible to win a Junior Award.
